Thin, surface cracks often come from normal settling and drying. They are worth sealing to keep water out, but they are not usually structural.

Wide, running, or stair-step cracks
Wider cracks, long running cracks, or stair-step cracks in the wall can point to movement underneath. Those need a closer look before they are patched.
Water staining tells the rest of the story
If a crack comes with water staining inside or efflorescence on the wall, water is getting through. We fix the crack and the water path together.
Can you just paint over stucco cracks?
Painting hides hairline cracks but does not stop them from reopening. Elastomeric coatings and proper patching are more durable.
When is a crack structural?
When it is wide, recurring after repair, or accompanied by movement in the wall. We assess before recommending a fix.
